I reserved my Starlink system over 7 months ago based on availability in my area (North Georgia) during fall of 2021. Can't find any contact information on updates. I know several people about 50 miles from me received dishes and are amazed at how good it's working. How/whom can I contact for an update?

2021.10.18 02:48 ladyandthepen What to Do When A Dog Smiles

I was looking at the fence in the backyard when I saw Mrs. Chrysler's dog from next door digging under the trees. Confused but glad for the distraction from homework, I got up and slid the glass porch door open.
"Hey, how'd you get here buddy?" I said.
The dog turned around and it was smiling. Its lips were stretched back in an unnatural rictus, as if someone had grabbed the skin from behind and pulled it taut. It started to trot towards me and I suddenly started violently shivering even though it was still 80 degrees outside in the middle of August. I backed up and closed the door and the dog was at the door, standing quite still and smiling at me through the glass, as if expecting me to return soon with some treats. Its eyes were vacant and yellow.
I thought about closing the curtains, but instead I walked sideways into the safe darkness of the hallway and into my bedroom and shut the door and locked it.
In five minutes my heart had slowed down to a reasonable pace, and in ten minutes I had mostly convinced myself it was just a stray. There were lots of strays downtown and occasionally they made their way into the suburbs in search of food. Yes, that's it. He was searching for food and smelled the scraps from the compost bin. It's full from yesterday when Dad pruned the tubers.
I put on earbuds and wandered the internet. Raccoon Whisperer feeds 9 baby raccoons, I found on Youtube. I watched the fat raccoons scrabble up the old, homely looking man to get to the sausages and smiled. What do raccoons eat when they're wild, I wondered.
I opened Google to search "what wild raccoons ate" but when I entered the first letter, the first search suggestion dropped "what to do when a dog smiles at you". The next suggestion was "what to do when a dog smiles at you from the backyard" and then "what to do when a dog smiles at you from the backyard and it's not a dog"--
I snapped the laptop shut, my heart rapidly thudding over the music that was blaring in my ears.
I pulled out the earbuds. At the door I heard a scratching sound. I bit my lip.
"Honey, open the door, Gage wants to come in and get his Legos," my mom's voice called.
I let out a sigh of relief and opened the door and Gage toddled in, holding a wooden stick and gurgling happily.
"Lay-wos," he said, unable to say the 'g' sound still.
I took the Lego box from the top shelf and put it on the floor and opened the top. Gage clapped and sat on the plush purple rug, taking out the Legos and stacking them haphazardly. Soon he had long columns of red and black Legos strewn across the rug. He picked up a dinosaur toy and smashed them into the Legos, making explosion noises.
"Leila, can you come out and help?"
Hesitating, I walked out and glimpsed out the porch. The porch was smooth and empty.
"Was Mrs. Chrysler's dog in the yard when you passed?" I asked.
"In the yard?" My mom stopped stuffing frozen pizzas in the freezer long enough to look past me out to the yard. "I think that dog actually went missing last week. I saw posters for it outside."
"Oh," I said as I picked up juice boxes from the Safeway bags and transferred them into the cupboard. "I think a stray got in earlier."
"Huh," my mom said, now stacking milk cartons into the fridge. "I'll get your dad to take a look at the fence over the weekend."
I helped my mom cook spaghetti for dinner and then we ate--me, Gage in his dinosaur-themed high chair, and my mom. I sat lost in thought and twirled the remaining noodles around my fork.
"Everything okay?" my mom said. "You seem thoughtful."
"Oh yeah, just thinking about a homework problem," I said.
"Okay honey," she replied, distracted by wiping spaghetti sauce off Gage's chin. He'd smeared tomato sauce all over his chin.
"Hey mom--can I sleep on the spare couch in your room tonight?" I said.
"Sure, I guess," she said, puzzled. "Are you sure everything's okay? Hannah and you are good?"
Hannah was my best friend at school. Normally I would have phoned and talked to her about my problems but today I just wanted the day to be over with. I watched the sun set under the fence and shine through it with an unearthly red glow.
"Yeah. We're fine mom. I just had bad dreams yesterday. Don't want to be alone tonight," I said.
"Alright," she agreed.
I finished math homework, some simple algebra problems, and headed for the couch in my mom's room without opening her laptop. My mom lay sleeping on her side on the bed nearby.
I lay down, then at the brink of sleep realized I'd forgotten to brush my teeth. I got back up and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, peed, and then returned to the couch, groping in the darkness.
I'd just settled in under the blanket when the light turned on. I was back in my bedroom. I sat upright, seeing everything in my room reflected in the closet mirrors. Under the bed was the dog, smiling. Its gums were now fully exposed and I could see that they were lined with human teeth.
The laptop fell off the bed and cracked open next to the Legos. On the LCD screen, in the Google search box scrolled the words "What to do when a dog smiles--smiles--smiles--"

2021.10.18 02:48 gtd_rad Lighting for car interior shooting

I'd like to shoot brolls for car interior, but it's really difficult without cranking up the ISO, or using a very low shutter speed. Does anyone have any tips for adding more light inside car interior for video shooting?

2021.10.18 02:48 RevenantMedia What are some movies that absolutely terrified you as a child, but have gotten less scary in your adulthood as the years passed?

Dawn of the Dead (1985) gave me nightmares for months after seeing it. Borderline traumatized me. I watched it early one morning on Cinemax, and thought I was all sneaky for watching it before my parents woke up. I remember being outside in the yard and thinking Bub was going to walk around the corner of the house and eat me as i was playing with my Star Wars figures. I had to sleep with the blankets tucked under my feet because I knew that zombies were going to try and snatch me if my feet left the safety of the blankets. JAWS also terrified me. I couldn't even go into a swimming pool for years after, and I'd never even seen the ocean! It took me almost 20 years to be able to watch them again, and now they're both my "go to" movies. As a child, I was also convinced that if we left the TV on a "static" channel that POLTERGEIST would get us.

2021.10.18 02:48 Rex____ [Fo4] Deciding what, or if none at all, overhaul to use for Fallout 4

Its been a few years since I last played Fallout 4, and I wanted to return to it. I'm a big fan of difficulty in my games and want to make the game more difficult while not making it too tedious. I remember a few issues I had while playing the game originally was having an overabundance of ammo caps and just all sorts of stuff. I don't want to abandon the feel of making it Fallout but I do want to improve it more like how I mentioned. I'm a big fan of Metro and stalker and I know there's a mod collection guide out there but I like making my own stuff. Right now I'm trying to decide between using horizon or Damn Apocalypse. I have a few other mods I'm looking at that aren't massive overhauls like that like, Sim Settlements 2, Pack attack (Which is a big one I'm liking the sound of), Immersive Fallout and/or maybe wasteland ballistics better locational damage equilibrium and weapons of fate. Then there's also how I do want to make the game more rpgy if possible, looking at PRB, Hot diggity or Be Exceptional. and vanilla weapon overhauls like VWR and power armor overhauls like LBPAC or some assembly required or Better Power Armor overhaul. Sorry if this post was too long.

2021.10.18 02:48 PerformanceOne3211 Nest hub Max....recipes?

I'm considering purchasing a nest hub max for my kitchen as i love to cook and would like to have it to set timers, read recipes, listen to music while cooking, etc.
I've seen videos of people using their nest hub max for cooking by accessing recipes, but I have only seen it pull random recipes from the internet (like food network).....My question is, is the nest hub max capable of reading specific recipes? I love using the NY Times cooking site and other random sites, for example. I also have several of my own recipes.
Is it possible to access recipes on specific websites, or to save my own recipes to access?

2021.10.18 02:48 tall_guy666 28 [M4F] Australia/Anywhere - Looking for someone new

One of those days where I feel like talking to a stranger. I'm 28, tall, Australian, bearded, not overweight but not ripped. Tell me what you've done today or ask what I've done and hopefully we'll find something to chat about. Some things you might also happen to enjoy: - Shows like Mythbusters, Taskmaster, The Orville, Seinfeld, Star Trek - Movies like Pulp Fiction, Top Gun, Reanimator, Clerks, Big - Games like Zelda series, Super Mario 64, Dishonored, Battlefield
I'm pretty terrible at writing these things so there's probably a lot of stuff I've left out. Drop a line, come say hi. If you any of the media above lines up with anything you enjoy, I'm sure there's someone we can talk about. There's only one way to find out
